Sinusoidal transformation

This is a painting of a view of the Isola dei Pescatori in Lake Maggiore painted in a naturalistic landscape style for comparison with the following painting in which the same landscape is transformed mathematically.

This is the same scene painted following a complex sinusoidal waveform transformation. There is a resemblance to oil slicks on water. Transformal paintings are painted without plasticity and elements are enclosed within a white cloissonist outline to emphasise the painterliness of the surface.
